Under the direction of Harry James’ lead trumpet virtuoso, the band has continued its tradition of fine rhythmic playing and mellow arrangements. Marathon - 2nd Annual Florida Keys Traditional Music Festival

Experience a weekend of traditional folk and bluegrass music in the Florida Keys. Featured performers to include Michael Doucet, Wayne Henderson, Daryl Davis, The Quebec Sisters, Springfield Exit with Linda Lay, Phil Wiggins, Jeff Little and more. Location at Sombrero Resort. January 29 / January Jamboree!

It's expected to be a smorgasbord of tropical plants, "used treasures," a plant raffle, even baked goods and honey! Attendees can find Keys and South Florida natives, bamboo, palms, heliconias, orchids and unusual, rare tropicals. Open from 8:30am to 3:00pm; pastries available at 9:00am, lunch available at 11:30am.

Winner of the Chopin Prize at the 2009 Cleveland International Piano Competition, Ham has performed internationally with the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul Symphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg Radio Broadcast Orchestra, and Royal Irish Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra. February 05 / Marathon - Adderley House Tour and Lecture

Tucked away amid the heart of the Marathon shopping district lies Crane Point Museum, Nature Center & Historic Site, a 64-acre tropical oasis of hardwood trees, nature trails and educational displays for adults and children. The Adderley home, belonging to a Bahamian immigrant and his family who set up homestead in the early 20th century, has been restored and is a popular stop along the 2.5 miles of trails and wooden walkways crisscrossing the hammock. February 10 - 12 / 3rd Annual Sailfish Open

An official leg of the Sailfish Pro Series, the three-day tournament includes VIP parties and two days of highly competitive fishing, world class entertainment and gourmet food. Overall cash payouts have been as high as $250,000.

National Pig Days is a three-day BBQ, pig roast, music fest, silent auction and social extravaganza for locals and visitors alike. March 04 - 06 - 13th Annual Captain Leon Shell Memorial Sailfish Tournament

The 12th annual tournament offers two full days of sailfishing and a $30,000 cash purse. The winning boat team is to receive a grand prize of $25,000 cash, with first and second runners-up also taking home cash prizes. Trophies are to be awarded to the top boat teams and individual sailfish anglers. Proceeds benefit Hospice of the Florida Keys.

Come for the run, but stay for the sun! A comprehensive race format includes the (new) 15K Challenge, and the 10K Run and 5K Walk/Run, set for 8 a.m. at Sombrero Beach. Runners from all over the Keys, country and world participate in this weekend-long event. Race entry fee includes t-shirts. Music, Awards, Raffles, Prizes, Food, Entertainment.
