Harbour Point Marine participates in year ‘round fishing tournaments throughout Marathon, FL. While planning your vacation, consider scheduling it during one of our local fishing events!
An official leg of the Sailfish Pro Series, the three-day tournament includes VIP parties and two days of highly competitive fishing, world class entertainment and gourmet food. Overall cash payouts have been as high as $250,000.
The 12th annual tournament offers two full days of sailfishing and a $30,000 cash purse. The winning boat team is to receive a grand prize of $25,000 cash, with first and second runners-up also taking home cash prizes. Trophies are to be awarded to the top boat teams and individual sailfish anglers. Proceeds benefit Hospice of the Florida Keys.
April 9th – 10th / Mile Marina Marathon Sharkathon
Take a bite out of Marathon as anglers match skills in catching multiple shark species during this one-day, man-versus-shark release tournament. Teams are awarded points based on the type of sharks caught and released. Qualifying species include mako, tiger, hammerhead, bull, black tip/spinner and lemon. The winning team with the most points could receive a grand prize of up to $15,000. Cash prizes are to be awarded for the second and third place teams as well.
Anglers vie for more than $25,000 in prizes in this boat team event, with seven different divisions. Teams of up to six anglers can register; pre-registration entry fee is $650 per team. Awards of up to $10,000 for the largest bull and cow combined - as well as cash prizes for wahoo, tuna and tripletail, grouper and snapper division winners.

May 1st – 4th / Tarponian Tournament
For enthusiastic tarpon anglers, silver kings mean springtime. This high-energy, three-evening tournament mandates that teams fish with a different captain each evening. Teams also rotate among the three major bridge channels in Marathon, so any potential "hot spots" are shared among all anglers.
May 5th – 7th / Marathon International Tarpon Tournament
Anglers from around the world fish this all-release event for individual and two-angler teams. Trophy awards given to anglers for most tarpon released, most fish other than tarpon released, most total fish released (including tarpon) and first- and second-place captain. Entry fee $175 per angler. An additional $40 registration fee is required for two anglers to fish as a team.
Several cash prizes are awarded to anglers in this one-day tournament. Top cash prize for the heaviest fish is $5,000, with prizes also presented to second- through fifth-place finishers. The total cash purse is expected to exceed $15,000. Event benefits Habitat for Humanity of the Middle Keys.
This angling challenge with a long history of fish tales and fun helps fund the Ronald McDonald Summer Camp program for disabled youngsters. Trophies are awarded to 1st through 4th place anglers with the highest point totals for the tournament. Nightly cash prizes of $300, $225 and $150 and $75 respectively, are to go to the top four teams with the most points.A $1,000 special bounty award is to be given to the angler who catches the last legal tarpon of the tournament, and it breaks the current 103-pound record of the catch-and-release event’s 25-year-history.
May 21st – 22nd / 35th Annual Ladies Tarpon Tournament
The best-of-the-best lady anglers come to compete in this two-night, all-release challenge, one of the Florida Keys' longest-running tournaments. Entry fee of $175 per angler grants access to a highly charged tournament of good-ribbing fun but stiff competition.
In addition to dolphin, prizes are awarded for the tournament's largest tuna and wahoo. Proceeds are to benefit the Professional Firefighters of Monroe County and the International Association of Fire Fighters Burn Foundation.
